Putting the Tinsle in Your Holidays!

Have you seen the target video with the lady on the elliptical?  Watch it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Ht_X19LtSg.

Let me start by saying I don’t get any money from target, but still thought this commercial was worth sharing.  I actaully saw it the other day, while I was walking on the treadmill and started cracking up!  I know the commercial was about her getting in shape to shop, but if we could put that kind of effort into our healthy eating and exercise routines no one would gain weight during the Holidays.

I understand it is hard to stay motivated this time of year with so  many holidays in November and December including:  Eid, Thanksgiving, Hanukkah, Chirstmas, and Kwanzaa.  Everyone loves celebrating the holidays, but why does our health have to take a back seat? Can’t we celebrate our health too and give thanks by respecting our bodies?

In the commercial, I loved the fact that the girl decorated her elliptical to put her in the holiday spirit!  I personally thrive on competition and setting goals, so I made myself a Holiday Bootcamp calender to keep me on track!  Find what your tinsil is this holiday season and embrace it.  Tis the season…to be healthy!

How can you stay healthy this holiday?

Love the decorated ellyptical, the heels, the pearls and the determination. I know it’s temptation central but I really try to stick to my typical 5-6 day per week yoga running routine. I think sometimes the headgame of thinking the rules change nov-jan gets people more than their actual schedules.
Off to decorate my sneakers!

I love the idea of the holiday bootcamp calendar! I’m definitely trying to make fitness a priority this season. I signed up with a personal trainer and I thought the timing would be horrible, but I made it work and having someone waiting for me at the gym (that I paid!) gets me there. The same would work for planning a gym date with a friend.

Hi Emjaye, Thanks for stopping by :) I am glad that the personal trainer is helping you stay on track! I like the buddy system myself and went for a 5.3 mile walk last night with a girlfriend.
