I checked out the Seattle Bites walking food tour with my family this past weekend.  It was a very tasty tour around Pike Place Market in Seattle.  Below is a map of a few of the places we stopped at.  I forgot to take pictures of the food at some of them, because I was to busy eating.

Pike Place Market is 105 years old and draws in ten million tourists to Seattle every year.  Being a fan of fresh and local produce, it was one of my favorite spots in Seattle.  Here are a few pictures of the fresh produce and seafood in the market.   Notice the size of the lobster tail compared to my mother’s hand.

Stop 1)  Taste Restaurant – Smoked Salmon Flatbread

Stop 2)  Crepe De France – Chocolate, Banana, and Almond Crepe

Stop 3)  Seattle’s Best Coffee – Gingerbread Latte

We had to make a stop for a caffeinated beverage on this tour at least once…after all it is the coffee capital of the world.  The mission of the market is to help give local businesses and entrepreneurs a start.  They don’t allow big businesses in Pike Place Market now, but since Seattle’s Best started as a small business and grew into a large profitable one they won’t kick them out.

Stop 4) Pike Place Chowder – New England Clam Chowder

I loved this clam chowder!  The only thing missing from our sample was a piece of bread to dip into it!!!

Stop 4)  Saffron Spice – Chicken Curry and Rice

Stop 5)  Uli’s Bierstube – Uli’s Famous Sausage with spicy mustard

Stop 6)  Lost River Winery – Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay, and Merlot

My favorite food stops on the tour were Crepe De France and Pike Place Chowder.  My family and I liked the samples at those stops so much that we went back for seconds on our last day in Seattle.  My least favorite stops on the tour were Taste Restaurant and Saffron Spice.  This is not because the dishes were not fresh or good; I have just tasted better versions of those two dishes in Chicago.

Everything looks so nice! That’s what I love about food trips, as well; you get to see, feel, and taste the tastiest treats in the streets!
