Last Wednesday, I hosted a networking event with Alex Hamel for dietitians, chefs, bloggers, foodies, etc.

We had the privilege of getting a private tour of Rick Bayless’ garden.  Our tour was led by Bill Shores, owner of Shores Garden Consulting.  Bill Shores has been managing Rick Bayless’ gardens for eight years and has specialized in creating and maintaining space-efficient urban gardens for the past twenty years.

Rick Bayless’ urban garden spans across three lots.  There is combination of traditional beds, raised beds, containers, vertical and indoor garden spaces throughout the garden making efficient use of the space.

Each year, the garden adapts to the needs of the Bayless restaurant trio (Frontera Grill, Topolobampo, and XOCO).  The Bayless garden also included a climate control green house, Koi pond, outdoor kitchen/grill, bee hive, multiple compost areas, and a variety of cacti.

The garden also doubles as beautiful space for entertaining family and friends.

We will be hosting another Rick Bayless’ garden networking tour in the fall.  If you are interested in attending please contact Bitchin’ Nutrition.

This event was FAB-U-LOUS! All foodies should seriously consider signing up for the fall tour. Just being in the garden is treat – what a hidden treasure! Can’t beat the price, either.
