Food and Facebook

Post image for Food and Facebook

As Facebook is growing more and more complex everyday…it dawned on me that I like Facebook the way I like my food.  SIMPLE.

I must have been the kid that didn’t like their food touching…haha!  I hate going out for brunch in the city and not being able to order the basics.  I don’t like fancy pancakes with nuts and berries in them.  Give me five silver dollar pancakes with a little syrup and jelly any day.

I also don’t like looking at recipes with ten plus ingredients.  I actually get bored after five…   I think the new Facebook feature, News Ticker, is like a recipe I have no interest in reading.  Sure I like to see a few tidbits here and there, but not every minute detail.  Do you really want everything to be public?

What do you mean you ‘must have been the kid’ — you are still that kid!! Hehe :) I agree though. With the Facebook thing. I do enjoy fun ornate food. Give me pears walnuts
Goat cheese and 10 other ingredients and I’ll order it. Just don’t give me the recipe for it!

Haha…well maybe sometimes :) I do like gourmet foods with multiple ingredients sometimes, but most days I like simple food.

That’ s interesting- wasn’t facebook supposedly founded on the pillar of minimalism? So much for that eh Zuckerberg.

Good food doesn’t need to be complicated, but you can’t make a bouillabaisse without more than 10 ingredients. Better stay out of the French kitchens Brooker 😉

Summer, I actually made a soup last night with more than ten ingredients, but since I wasn’t following a recipe and just made one up I had more fun :)

I agree! I went on the other day and logged right off. I like twitter so much more. I hope they don’t go changing everything around too.

I believe the increasing complexity of food is partly to blame for the increasing obesity problem. Every time I see a commercial for “stuffed and loaded” restaurant menu items I think of overweight people getting STUFFED!!! We desperately need to dial it back to the basics….

Haha, I agree wholeheartedly with this post! I too hate seeing long ingredient lists. It is a total turnoff and will result in me most likely never trying that recipe out!
